Naked

In this work, I explore nakedness as a state in which I face myself. I am interested in the moment when we set aside our ideas about who we are and encounter our own vulnerability. Working between figuration and abstraction, I create a record of this experience. The body emerges through suggestions of form, traces, and flows that evoke human processes and bodily fluids.

I approach painting as performance. Movement, gesture, and concentration leave traces on the surface and become part of the work. I use acrylic, pigment, and water. Through layering, dripping, and blending, these materials give painterly form to bodily experience. The composition disrupts the sense of a fixed space. Forms overlap, and the relationships between surface, depth, and body remain fluid. My process is guided by synesthetic perception, in which colour connects with sound and physical sensation. These connections inform my decisions as I paint.
